Umberto Beccaria plays Andrea Ravizza, Frammenti @ Punto Rec Studios on a Fazioli gran Coda

Frammenti is a piano song to be performed with a specific intonation.
Although some sounds are obtained by scratching and pinching the strings with the nails (or even hitting them with the palms of the hands), the personality of the song remains soft and fine.

New sounds are interspersed with quiet chords, played slowly or very softly, slightly rippled by the untempered tuning. Even these quiet moments are therefore pervaded by a certain tension, almost a movement.

From the middle of the piece sounds and phrases are repeated with a phase shifting technique which, although with a certain degree of insistence, turns slowly fading towards the end.
A relaxed and slightly restless chord closes the piece.
