Five broadcasts featuring the OSN Rai concert at the RAI Auditorium in Turin
“Musiche in Italia”, Radio Techetè’s programme dedicated to the history of music, presents a special series on the Moncalieri Jazz Festival, broadcast every Tuesday for five weeks starting on Tuesday 14 January, at 2:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with repeat broadcasts on Saturdays at the same times.
The special opens with an interview with the festival’s artistic director, Ugo Viola, and continues in the following episodes with the broadcast of the major concert produced in collaboration with Radio Techetè on 17 November 2024 at the Rai Auditorium in Turin.
The concert featured the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Steven Mercurio, with arrangements and compositions by Andrea Ravizza. Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of radio, the event involved, in addition to the orchestra and the Moncalieri Jazz House Band, the group Voci di Corridoio, Ugo Viola on accordion, Fabrizio Bosso and Tosca.
The concert was introduced by Elisabetta Malantrucco of Radio Techetè, with a presentation by journalist and radio DJ Marco Basso. Greetings by Jula De Palma were included, along with historical audio excerpts from the RAI sound archives.
