Waldweg is a short journey along a woodland path. Its generating principle is the idea of recreating sound images such as rain, the mountain's profile, and the ascent to a higher point. Of particular significance is the infinite ascending glissando derived from the Shepard scale—an acoustic illusion evoking an endless climb.
During the composition of the piece, following the development of the material, coloristic figures were paired with intimate and reflective moments, where the music aims to guide the listener through a reflection on the path just traveled.
World Premiere: Torino String Quartet | Teatro Fratelli Vacchetti - Carrù (CN), Italy - August 27, 2022
