Umberto Beccaria al pianoforte

Umberto Beccaria (Mondovì, 1996) is a multifaceted pianist and artist whose research is based on the idea of music as an open language, capable of connecting emotion, thought, and form in a single aesthetic experience. A protagonist of intense international activity that has led him to prestigious stages such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Stadtcasino in Basel, Beccaria combines solo performance with artistic design and sound experimentation.

Experimentation and Creative Partnership

The artistic relationship between Umberto Beccaria and Andrea Ravizza has been strengthened through compositional challenges exploring the timbral potential of the piano. In 2019, Beccaria performed Frammenti (Fragments), Ravizza's work for prepared piano and electronics, at the Musik-Akademie in Basel. In this piece, Beccaria's pianism acts as a sonic catalyst, capable of navigating between the material density of the score, perfectly embodying the "independent actor" concept central to Ravizza's poetics.

Duo Anamorfosi and Ohne Worte

The evolution of this collaboration led to European projects with Duo Anamorfosi, founded by Beccaria alongside violinist María Alejandra Jiménez. The duo premiered and performed the world premiere of Andrea Ravizza's Ohne Worte (without words), a piece included in the "LIED" tour that visited major musical centers such as Lausanne, Basel, and Turin in 2025. In this production, Beccaria refracts Ravizza's orchestral structure through a chamber music prism, transforming instrumental dialogue into an ecosystem of rare transparency.

Umberto Beccaria is the founder and artistic director of the Classiche Armonie festival in Carrù. The exhibition represents a fertile ground for cultural planning, where classical music is presented through innovative methods and in unconventional venues, reflecting a vision of art as both a pursuit of quality and a transformative process.
