The "Scelte e Percorsi" (Choices and Paths) initiative, promoted by Artes Media Project in cooperation with Compagnia San Filippo, hosts a lecture-concert dedicated to Andrea Ravizza at the Auditorium of San Filippo Neri. The event outlines a singular artistic journey, merging jazz instinct and technological production with the rigor of academic composition.

An Aesthetic Between Algorithm and Instinct

Ravizza's path is distinguished by an aesthetic that integrates heterogeneous worlds: from his debut at a young age as a jazz pianist and producer to the maturation of advanced technological expertise, where the computer acts as a creative meta-instrument. This experience culminated in research on virtual orchestration that balances mathematical rules with human sensitivity.

Transparency of the Process and Dialogue

The meeting aims to make the compositional process "transparent" to the listener. Between the performances, the author discusses his method, illustrating techniques such as thickening (Eindickung) and algorithmic nebulization applied to various instrumental ensembles, overcoming the coldness of calculation through the judgment of the ear.
