Sestetto Renacero
Sestetto Renacero
G. Verdi Conservatory Concert Hall | Turin

A significant event within the Accademia Corale Stefano Tempia’s season. The evening featured the Sestetto Renacerò, performing a repertoire that explored the evolution of instrumental tango, from its traditional roots to avant-garde innovations.

Repertoire and Arrangements

The core of the performance focused on the works of Astor Piazzolla, reinterpreted through a refined chamber music sensibility. Andrea Ravizza arranged and transcribed a substantial portion of the program, achieving a synthesis between the Nuevo Tango idiom and sophisticated formal writing. Notable performances included arrangements of Oblivion, Chi Quiun De Bachin, and the iconic Adios Nonino, which featured an original piano cadenza composed by Ravizza.

Tango per Carola and Original Works

Alongside masters such as Osvaldo Pugliese (Emancipacion, Negracha) and Richard Galliano (Tango pour Claude), the program featured Andrea Ravizza's original composition, Tango per Carola. This work reflects the composer's research into declining tango archetypes through a rigorous structural framework and meticulous timbral management.

Sestetto Renacerò and Performance

The ensemble, consisting of renowned soloists, captured the rhythmic complexity and expressive density of the scores. The performance was further enhanced by dancers Sarita Goyas and Ricardo Labò, who translated the music's dramatic tension into plastic movement.
